PAIGNTON Community and Sports College are launching an indoor cricket league in their new multi-sports hub.
Matches will take place on Sunday evenings from October 14 between 6pm-9pm.
Each team of six a side will play weekly fixtures of 60 minutes in duration which will cost £18 per week.
This fee includes the cost of a DACO umpire and hire of a 30x30 metre outfield.
The league will aim to attract new players and teams to the sport with tiered divisions to ensure competitive matches and batting equipment provided by the centre.
Organiser Rob Payne is confident the new league will prove popular.
“South Devon is a hot bed for cricket in the county with an abundance of teams from across Torbay and South Hams playing in the Devon Cricket League,” said Payne.
“An indoor league will look to provide a great opportunity for new and existing players to play the fast and furious small-sided version of the sport.”
The competition will act as a feeder league with the top team progressing to the Devon indoor finals in February.
