Extraordinary General Meeting - Thursday 27th November
The meeting was attended by representatives from 70 clubs.
Vote One
"Does your club want to implement regionalisation / extended regionalisation within the Devon Cricket League"
As this proposal affects the Structure of the League (Rule 2a) there is a 2/3rds majority vote required by the Constitution.
Proposal 1A was Carried by 55 votes FOR to 10 votes AGAINST ( 5 abstensions)
The following Votes only require a majority of the votes cast.
Vote Two - The 1st XI Competition
Proposal 1A : "Premier, A & B 1st XI Divisions remain as is (county-wide divisions).
Regionalise from C1st XI Division level down"
OR if this proposal fails the following proposal 1B is adopted.
Proposal 1B : "Premier, A & B, C & D 1st XI Divisions remain as is (county-wide divisions).
Regionalise from E1st XI Division level down"
Proposal 1A was Carried by 43 votes FOR to 20 votes AGAINST ( 7 abstensions),
Vote Three - Independent Umpires in 1st XI Cricket
Proposal 1C : "In the C Division 1st XI (East) and the C Division 1st XI (West), one independent umpire is appointed to each game.
The second umpire is to be supplied by the home club"
OR if this proposal fails the following proposal 1D is adopted.
Proposal 1D : "In the C Division 1st XI (East) and the C Division 1st XI (West) games are to be umpired by club umpires
and rules relating to power-plays and fielding circles will NOT apply.
Proposal 1C was Carried by 32 votes FOR to 11 votes AGAINST ( 27 abstensions)
Vote Four - The 2nd XI Competition
Proposal 2A : "Premier, A 2nd XI Divisions remain as is (county-wide divisions). Regionalise from B2nd XI Division level down"
OR if this proposal fails then regionalisation will remain from D 2nd XI Division down"
This proposal was Carried by 54 votes FOR to 9 votes AGAINST ( 7 abstensions)
There was total agreement from the member clubs present that the League EMC/GMC
should retain the autonomy to determine the structure of the lowest Divisions in the 2nd XI Competition.
