PLYMPTON have been given £35,000 through Sport England to facelift their ageing facilites at Harewood Park.The money comes from the Inspired Facilities fund, which is part of the Places People Play Olympic legacy programme.
Around £52million will be shared out among community sports club under the programme.
Plympton have spent their grant on renovating the dressing rooms, toilets and showering facilities in their pavilion.
David Loynes, the Plympton treasurer, said: 'We are delighted to secure this Inspired Facilities grant, which will enable us to upgrade the quality of our premises and deliver a better sporting experience for our players and visitors.'
MP Gary Streeter, whose constituency includes the club, said: 'This investment by Sport England into Plympton Cricket Club is fantastic news. These refurbished facilities are a real reward for the contribution this club makes to the community.'
