STOKEINTEIGNHEAD are holding their annual president’s day at Netherton Park ground this Saturday.

Howard Basham has taken over as president from Cyril Wills and is putting together a side to play against Stoke.

Many of the club's former players will be dusting off their whites to appear in Howard's Legends side to show the younger members that they have not lost their sparkle or enthusiasm for the game.

All club members, family and friends of the club are invited to come along with former members and supporters of the club especially welcome to attend.

Stoke have something to celebrate this season having won promotion as SDL Division Two champions.

They clinched their promotion last time out with a seven-wicket win over Paignton.

Paignton were bowled out early for 195 – their last six wickets going for just 21 runs.

David Rew took apart some of the lower order completing his five overs with three wickets for only five runs.

Paul Russell made 40 and Jamie Grey 39 as Stoke set off in hot pursuit.

The run rate slowed for a while, but victory was never in doubt, and the winning run was scored with 12 overs to spare.
