DEVON Dumplings gained victory over Sou'Westers in last over.
The day started very grey and damp with some rain spitting. despite some dampness on the wicket DDCC elected to bat.
Progress was steady with Tuohey and Ashworth top scoring with 59 and 58 respectively.
A flurry of wickets made it seem Dumps would struggle to get much more than 200 but some good hitting by Hughes saw them to 256, not a large total considering the outfield was super fast.
Souwesters never really got established with wickets falling regularly. They were still in it with 120 required from the last 20 overs with five wickets standing, but were soon nine down.
The last pair managed to hold on until the final over when Tuohey got his fourth wicket to wrap up the Souwesters innings.
Tuohey was well supported by Hearne and Kelmere with two wickets a piece and young Jack Hughes was unlucky to come away with no wickets. Overall it was a spinners’ track with turn and bounce.
