IN the last couple of weeks Stuart has undergone fairly major surgery at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
He is recovering well but, for the moment, remains in hospital so his condition can be monitored.
We are in contact with Stuart’s wife, Wendy, and whilst it’s not intended to provide a running commentary on his recovery, we may be able to update you from time to time.
Stuart, being Stuart, has his mobile phone with him and it is appreciated that, with such a wide network of friends and colleagues, people will always want to make contact with him.
However, we are trying to create the time and space for him so that, with good nursing, he can focus on getting well.
It would be appreciated therefore if you could refrain from directing your cricket inquiries to him for the moment.
Please do make contact with the appropriate member of the league management team whose details are in the 2015 copy of the Devon Cricket League handbook.
In Stuart’s absence the league will be putting together a plan so that we can cover the many duties that he undertook on behalf of the Devon Cricket League.
We’ll bring you further news on this in the near future. In the meantime I am sure you would all want to join with me in wishing him a full recovery.
