Summer Camp Success
During the summer holidays the cricket board have run five 2 day summer camps around the county. Camps at Ottery St Mary, Plymouth, Exeter and Ashburton managed to escape the rain and saw full days of cricket enjoyed. Unfortunately the camp at Barnstaple and Pilton was not so lucky and had to be cancelled due to heavy rain and a flooded pitch.
The camps proved a great success with over 100 boys and girls from 5-13 years old learning and improving their batting, bowling, throwing and catching skills. Each afternoon those skills were put to the test in World Cup tournaments, where runs, wickets, catches and run outs provided great entertainment and very close games.
The board would like to thank all the clubs who hosted the camps, and the coaches who helped make the camps enjoyable for all the participants.
