DEVON'S Matt Thompson has been retained in the Unicorns A team for Wednesday's 2nd XI Trophy game against Northants at Wellingborough School.Thompson, last season's Devon U19 captain, has been a regular in the full county side for the past two summers and topped the batting averages in 2011.
He has the distinction of being the youngest player ever to score a century for Devon at 18 years and 206 days.
Unicorns team manager Phil Oliver, the former Warwickshire player, drafted Thompson in to play against Leicestershire at Luton last week and he responded by making 37 off 38 balls in a 20-run win.
