Topsham looking forward to first friendly

TOPSHAM ST JAMES are looking forward to the 2012 season with anticipation and excitement.

Last year the 1st XI, under the captaincy of Ross Treleaven, secured promotion to E Division and the ladies were, once again, crowned Devon Champions.

The strong Colts section will be starting their training on Friday, 27 April and have entered teams in the East Devon Youth League at U14, U13, U12 and U10 level.

There is also a section dedicated to Girls, who will receive training and play some matches, as well as having a tournament scheduled for the end of May.

The men’s team play their first friendly away at Whimple tomorrow (April 21) with one the following week at Woodbury.

The Devon Cricket League campaign starts with both the 1st and 2nd XI facing near-neighbours Kenn in the first matches of the season.

Teams will also be taking part in the South Devon League on Sundays and the Exeter Evening T/20 League.

Topsham St James is a friendly club that welcomes players of all ages and abilities.

If you or your son/daughter would like to know more about the club, contact membership secretary Sheila Harding, on 01392 876481 or go along either to the first men’s outdoor nets on Thursday, April 26 or  registration evening the next day.
