Three South Devon Cricket Clubs, Barton ,Torquay and Brixham have followed the example set by the likes of Somerset and Glamorgan County Grounds and had their Squares Aerated with a Deep tine Aerator.
Recent Research carried out at Cranfield University for the ECB recommends the operation be carried out Annually, as soon after end of season Maintenance, as conditions allow.
The Deep Tinning opens up the square allowing the ground to shrink and swell naturally relieving the compaction created during the Season, Desirable Grasses will then use the tine holes to send roots deep into the square which will improve its Playing performance during the Season.
