Wiltshire walk off in Over-60s thrashing
DEVON O60s defeated their Wiltshire counterparts by 170 runs in a bizarre game at Instow.

Wiltshire's bowlers were clouted all round the ground and out of it as Devon made 304 for none - that's right, for none - in their 45-over Spitfire National Championship game.

Bob Eames bashed 14 fours on his way to 144 at run-a-ball rate in 171 minutes

Rob Newing (left) clattered 138 off 127 balls with 19 fours and a six.

Some of the Wiltshire bowling figures were not for the feint hearted! Alan Stratford's none for 79 in nine being the most expensive.

The bizarre stuff was yet to come!

Wiltshire reached 134 for two in reply with 13 overs to go - and were not going to win the game from there.

With a gale-force wind whipping round the ground, Wiltshire skipper John Williams took his team off, which Devon took as conceding the game.

When the wind dropped Wiltshire wanted to go back out, which the umpires agreed to despite Devon's reservations.

Wiltshire reached 190 in reply, which entitled them to a couple of batting bonus points in their view, although Devon are likely to lodge a complaint if Spitfire Championship officials agree to it.

Devon 304-0 (R Eames 144no, R Newing 137), Wiltshire 134-2 (D Roberts 53, G Iles 37no). Devon bt Wiltshire by 170 runs.
