THE South Devon Youth Cricket League and South Devon Cricket Coaches Association have teamed up to offer a free two-hour coaching for all workshop at Ipplepen CC on Thursday (April 18) evening from 6-8pm.
The workshop is being run by Matt Cooke from Devon Cricket Board and is aimed mainly at unqualified coaches, teachers, teaching assistants, parents and older juniors who may be involved in any way with teaching/coaching cricket in your school or club.
The workshop will give some basic ideas of what to coach and how to coach, as well as practical demonstrations of some games and drills that you can use in your club/school to help develop cricket skills.
Existing qualified coaches are also welcome to attend for a refresher and maybe some new ideas. The bar will be open afterwards for a ‘debrief’.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to up-skill people for free - just in time for the start of the season - so please pass details on to anyone you know who may be interested,” said league chairman Chris Partridge.
Although people are welcome to turn up on the night, to help plan numbers can anyone planning on attending e-mail Partridge risingstars2010@googlemail.com in advance.
